Gabinete de algunas contradicciones diarias
Artist’s book by Catalina Mena composed of 3 unique copies.
‘Gabinete de Algunas Contradicciones Diarias’ is a winged book, in leporello format that is part of the artist’s speech around the critique of cultural ideas established around the domestic and the feminine.
In this way, Mena works the contrast of two significant ideas: wings as an element linked to freedom and enjoyment, which invites us to reflect about the human desire to ascend. While the knife, as a functional object, comes to build the contradiction, generating a dialogue with life and death, with reality and dreams, as a hinge between survival and defense, inviting us to reflect on the environment and the fragility that constitutes us.
