Based in London, Started 1901
For over a century the Whitechapel Gallery in east London has premiered world-class artists such as Jackson Pollock, Frida Kahlo and David Hockney, as well as hosting groundbreaking group exhibitions. We continue to showcase the best in contemporary art, and publish a diverse range of catalogues, archival reprints and artist’s books, as well as the successful Documents of Contemporary Art series of critical anthologies.
Although we do not accept submissions to write for our exhibition catalogue programme, we do accept unsolicited proposals from guest editors suggesting topics and themes in our Documents of Contemporary Art series of critical anthologies. If we feel the initial idea may have potential, we would invite the editor to submit a more detailed proposal and contents list.
