textur
Based in Berlin, Started 2018
textur is a collectively founded and produced art mag – or zine. Initiated by curator Sarie Nijboer and art writer Julianne Cordray, textur considers art through text and text as a visual medium. It takes the art world itself – its structures and principles – as its conceptual focus, while seeking an alternative approach to art writing, not only extending its visual potential, but also introducing a range of formats: comprising long- and short-form texts, as well as creative non-fiction and the adoption of fictive personas – cultivating a performative dimension in the process of art writing and the identity of the art writer. textur exists online as a digital simulation of a printed publication and, as of September 2019, as a riso-printed edition.
Submission Policy
We accept expressions of interest from writers and artists on a rolling basis; however, due to lack of funding, we are not always able to accept submissions. When funding is available we will announce this and may occasionally also run open calls.
